Tinkoff Bank chooses Smart Engines for bank card recognition

Tinkoff Bank is moving in its mobile applications to a new technology for the recognition of bank cards, developed by Smart Engines. The implementation of the Smart IDReader bank cards recognition module is performed independently by the bank’s specialists.

Smart IDReader technology allows you to recognize all digital and alphabetic fields on bank cards, which allows you to automatically extract not only the card number, but also the expiration date and card holder name. This functionality has become relevant for Tinkoff Bank with the need to enter customers full information about the card when carrying out various payment transactions.

The Smart IDReader bank cards recognition module provides high quality recognition in various lighting conditions, for any background images of cards, as well as when entering data from old (wiped) bank cards. The quality of recognition of bank card numbers is 99.52%.

Currently, the Smart Engines solution has already been implemented in the mobile application of Tinkoff Bank for iOS and Android.
