Smart Engines will present mobile OCR technologies at MWC 2018

Smart Engines will participate in the largest mobile industry event in the world – international exhibition Mobile World Congress which will take place 26 February – 1 March 2018 in Barcelona, Spain.

On Smart Engines stand (Hall 7 Stand 7G70) a mobile solution will be presented which incorporates a next-generation technology for recognition of ID cards, national passports, driving licences, visas of more than 50 countries. Recognition is supported in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Czech, Croatian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Russian, Armenian, Georgian and Greek.

The main feature of the solution is the ability to recognize in real-time videostream. The user just needs to show the document to smartphone’s camera for several seconds and document data will be scanned and automatically entered in a mobile application form.

Personal data security in Smart Engines solutions for mobile devices is protected due to the fact that only device RAM is used for document image processing – document images are not uploaded to any cloud services or external servers. All computations are performed on the device itself.

Apart from identity documents recognition Smart Engines is presenting new technologies for recognition of vehicle licence plates for mobile applications at MWC 2018.
