NEC chooses Smart Engines for digital Onboarding project in Peru

NEC de Colombia has chosen Smart Engines technology for the automatic reading of Peruvian identity documents to combine with NEC’s biometric identification technology in a Self-Boarding solution for a major fintech project in Peru.

Today, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, companies have been forced to offer onboarding services to implement safe and effective remote care processes for their customers. In this context, Smart Engines technology, is a key facilitator for an optimal user experience in the process of capturing document information from the customer’s mobile phone, which is necessary for self-registration processes (self-boarding). The application of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques by Smart Engines, offers a quick and accurate extraction of citizen data from identity documents, as well as offering the ability to verify the validity and integrity of the extracted data, resulting in a friendly, safe, and low-friction customer experience.

NEC integrates an automatic document reading technology in both desktop and mobile applications for multiple industries, as part of its portfolio of solutions for digital transformation; currently demanded by both corporate and public sectors.
