While visiting various offices/organizations and business centers with the visitor permit system sometimes it seems that you are stuck in the past: we can often watch continuously listening to the radio or watching TV guards who take the visitor’s passport and manually enter visitor’s data in the visitor log. If the visitor was registered earlier, the system checks the information entered before and determines whether to provide a pass or refuse admission. Then the visitor gets an electronic pass or a bar-coded visitor token to pass through the checkpoint.
The checkpoint itself can be equipped with various systems that work with electronic passes equipped with RFID tags or paper barcode passes. The optical barcode recognition system automatically reads the data and lets the visitor go through the turnstile. Depending on the amount of data that should be encoded, different code generators can be used. The most suitable codes which allow you to enter visitor data, arrival time, exact place for visiting (company name, floor number, room number, name of the staff member receiving the visitor etc.) are QR codes, DataMatrix, PDF417.
