The latest version of Gazprombank’s mobile application (iOS, Android) supports QR codes capture thanks to the built-in barcode recognition module developed by Russian experts in document capture systems based on AI, company Smart Engines. The technology allows making and accepting QR payments right in the application. Gazprombank is one of the largest commercial banks in Russia, which is also represented in Belarus and Switzerland.
“Today, QR-code payments is a key element of modern banking. The quality of technologies that help to provide such services affect the user experience and satisfaction for our clients that interact with the bank on a day-to-day basis — paying utility bills, taxes. The fact that Smart Engines systems guarantee high recognition accuracy and speed regardless of smartphone’s price segment and quality played a great role for us when choosing the most efficient solution”.

Gazprombank

In order to capture the QR code in Gazprombank’s mobile application, the user simply needs to show the code to the camera of their smartphone. The QR code gets instantly recognized in real time, without transferring the data to external servers. The process takes just around 1-2 seconds.
The solution has been integrated by NVI Solutions.
